FIRST Singaporean Team to enter World Time Attack Challenge in Sydney

Choon’s Motor Works from Singapore, is looking to make history by being the first Singaporean team to participate in this year’s Yokohama World Time Attack Challenge in Sydney Australia, with not just one, but two cars!

Team Principal, Eddie Ng, has registered two entries for the event which will be taking place at Sydney Motorsports Park on 12 and 13 October 2018. “We have entered two cars in two categories to demonstrate our capabilities across the board. We have a rear-wheel drive, turbocharged Mazda RX7 time attack track car in the Pro-Am class and a front-wheel drive, naturally aspirated, road registered Honda Integra in the Open Class.”

The Event

The World Time Attack Challenge is slowly becoming one of the most hotly contested motorsport events globally with entrants from around the world. The World Time Attack utilises a “shootout” format. Simply put, entrants are given a certain amount of time to register their fastest lap. This is somewhat like Formula One Qualifying. After which, the fastest 5 entrants from each class will move on to a Superlap Shootout.

Set in the dying stages of Day 2, the fastest five cars from each class will be assembled in pit lane and then sent out for a “three lap flyer” consisting of a warm-up or sighting lap, one attack lap, and one cool down lap. Can it get any more exciting? Check out highlights from last year’s World Time Attack Challenge.

Sending two cars to Sydney to compete is no easy task. While working to ensure the cars are race ready, Eddie is also raising funds and looking for sponsors. Choon’s Motor Works has already secured a number of sponsors but there are still sponsorship spots available. You can contact us via our Facebook page for sponsorship options – https://www.facebook.com/eightmotoring.sg/

Eight Motoring will be following the progress of these two cars leading up to the race and will be trackside on race day.

Wishing the boys from Choon’s Motor Works all the best!
